About UAG
Background
URBAN ARMOR GEAR was founded in 2012 in Orange County, California – the action sports center of the world. Bored with the corporate world and unimpressed by the case offerings at the time, three founders got together and decided to create a case that could provide unrivaled protection for their phones in the most challenging situations.
La prima custodia per iPhone sviluppata da UAG era per l'iPhone 4 e presentava il modello caratteristico di UAG, ispirato alle taniche, rese popolari per la prima volta durante la seconda guerra mondiale, realizzate in acciaio pressato per creare rigidità e resistenza pur rimanendo leggere per trasportare liquidi come gas e acqua alle truppe. UAG include la sua versione ormai iconica del design della tanica per invocare questo senso di forza e alta qualità di livello militare, che è arrivato a rappresentare UAG. Inizialmente le vendite furono lente, e solo con il lancio del Samsung S3 il mercato iniziò a notarlo.

Ben presto la voce cominciò a spargersi e iniziarono ad arrivare storie di clienti con telefoni protetti da UAG dopo essere stati lasciati cadere dagli edifici, giù dai muri, investiti dalle auto o peggio.
The fun didn’t stop there. As phone manufacturers put out larger and larger devices, the need for protection increased even further. UAG went to great lengths to prove our cases could stand up to the rigors of active lifestyles and embarked on a series of tests to demonstrate it our breakthrough design and functionality.
